I got it and didn't get around to installing it :-( hoping to tinker with it this week sometime

I think it will be a really tight fit. The cover has a pull point on the bottom and it pops out. More to come!

Got around to sight fitting this over the weekend. It's *very* tight fit.
That pretty much gives two workable options. First is to have some sort of tool that can pry the faceplate off. This is still a mystery atm since some space is needed to pry off and there's really not much play on up and down sides. The left and right have plenty of room.
Second is to hack the install with heavy duty Velcro and hope to hell the wires have enough to give to detach, pull the faceplate to replace batteries.

I didn't go for the install, wanted to report here first. Honestly, if I cannot find a smaller vertical digital thermostat, I'm thinking Velcro will be the way to go.

The stat will work but you just need the space, if space is not a problem go for it...

Wally World has an electronic Honeywell thermostat, for $18.99,and free shipping from site to store.I am picking one up next week when my new dorm reefer arrives. It is not programmable, which I do not think I need. I just need something that will come on when needed and shut off when the temp is reached.
