Sorry to hear you had tire issues. I hope it did not damage the trailer?
What was the brand and age of the tire?

I had a similar experience last October with a 1992 Coleman. I blew out a tire due to excessive heat. These were new tires, with a recently installed brake controller which I discovered later, I had set the gain too high, so between the 100 degree temperature, and a brake that was partially on, excessive heat caused the tire to failure!

It's 2 years old. 80lb pressure tire that came with camper. I'll look up brand tonight. Damaged drawer frames and fire extinguisher holder . It didn't break through the bottom though. Very strange.Click image for larger version

That looks a lot like my tire that blew out on Friday a few miles from the camp ground. I discovered my 4 year old tires were really 6 years old. I'm getting 4 "new" ones soon. I just hope this time I don't get ones that sat around for 2 years before I bought them. Thank goodness for the spare. Only a minor inconvenience.

The date is stamped on each tire. Don't take them if they aren't 'fresh'.

Date Code

I just installed tires on my trailer and made sure they were as new as could be. Don't take their word, I actually looked at the date code before they installed them. Luckily 2 months old.

Chinese bombs from the factory. Maxxis m8008 is the cure. I speak from the experience of owning two fthwheels w/ no blowouts while traveling nationwide.
