VIN Locations

I just bought a 2000 Rockwood pop up camper. The VIN number on the tongue has had a piece welded over it. Is there another location to find the VIN?

We have the title but it was bought in another state and in order to register it in our state, a VIN inspection is required and they have to verify the VIN on the trailer to that on the title. Most vehicles have more than one VIN stamped in the frame somewhere

None I've saw have more than one frame vin.

Sounds like someone will be cutting that bracket off.
My newest trailer has the vin in 3 locations.
Frame pin box.

Left front id sticker.

Door sticker.

My trailer before.
Frame.
Left front id sticker.
Kitchen cupboard door.

Camper before that.
Frame.
Cupboard door.

This is the rv industry not the automobile industry.
There's only one frame vin.

I talked to Rockwood this morning and it's looking like they only had "one" vin number via the hitch and or frame for a pop up.
The only other place in that year that the vin was placed was in the left front corner body sticker with weight info and or placed on the lower door which also had weight information.
If neither sticker is present or legible then you'll have to rely on the stamped vin number on the frame which is now partially covered up.

If you bought the unit from a second party, they had to give you title it is on that. Also you can write DMV in the state that you bought it and give them the lic. # and they can send a copy to you. If it was also insured by the party then you could also get it from the insurance company it would be on the policy. Call the person you got it from and have him send any of that information. He has to have proof that he is the legal owner. Good luck, It takes time to do all that, DMV can also look it up by the plate #.

I haven't had time yet to see if I could locate it. About to go out and set it up and see if I can find the sticker inside the cabinets

PEOPLE, please quit saying "vin number". VIN stands for Vehicle Identification Number. So saying "vin number" is basically saying vehicle identification number number. Just saying.

Happy Camping!

I know. So sorry...but it it is one of those acronyms that always seems to be referred as a VIN number. (Just to a google search.)

But I do understand. I have had to live with people referring to my gun magazines as "clips." Even some of the people I used to work with called their magazines clips.

I guess you can call it what you want, but per my insurance it states "description of auto or trailers" with listed under Vehicle ID Number. It list my Vin# for my trailer but nothing under class. It purely states my trailer Vin # and that is on my Hartford Insurance policy. Under class my TV is listed as 31518B, my trailer is not listed in that class. That is a vin# sorry just saying.......FR will list it as a serial # DMV and Insurance Company's list it as a Vin #

Always been vin# since My dads garage in the 1960's and DMV calls it vin# on their forms, insurance always calls it vin#. Acronyms are the way of the world more now than ever. LOL, BFF, TT, TV, etc so whats wrong with the vin its just another acronym.

Wow, is that bad grammar.....need to stay off the phone when I type
Two of my tags are labeled with the word "VIN" and the number, the other label is the vehicle identification number.
