Water Question

When I hook up water to my 228 MAC and turn it on, does it fill the water holding tank and hot water heater? How long should I wait to light the hot water heater after I've hooked up to water? Any explanation as to how this all works is much appreciated.

On the water heater pull the pressure/temperature relief valve and if water comes out it is full, if it does not its not full. Hooking water up will not fill your tank but should fill the water heater if it is not still bypassed from winterizing.

there are two ways for your water,
1) you are hooked up to the camp water spigot with a hose to the city water connection on the side of the camper. (This supplies water to your water lines but does not fill your fresh water tank)

2) you are not hooked up and are using the water stored in your fresh water tank via the water pump - (the fresh water tank is filled by the fresh water port on the side of the camper - it is a gravity feed port and the water hose does not attach -)

Either way will fill the water heater. Turn on a faucet in the camper and the water will fill the water heater (and as Toddupton said - be sure the water heater is not in bypass mode) - once the air has cleared the lines and you get a steady stream of water at both the hot and cold water faucets, the water heater should be full. You can check it at the pressure relief valve on the water heater.
