Weight limit on closed pop up Roof HW296

Hi...I am looking for the weight limit on a closed 2015 HW296 pop up roof . I would like to load a light (less than 500 lbs) trailer with a kayak up there (using a long ramp). I would use some type of cross member to distribute the weight of the rear wheels of the trailer which would be resting on the rear of the camper roof (over the rear bed). Anyone with any thoughts on this? Thanks...

I used to carry bikes on my popup's roof and have walked on it, so I am sure the Kayak would be fine... Not so sure about a trailer as well..

I exchanged e-mails with the Forest River Warranty Administrator about placing a rack on a HW296. Here is his direct quote from the e-mail...

"The roof can handle up to 200 lbs. of weight but it does need to be distributed to the out edge of the roof as that is where the framework of the roof is at. As long as you are fastening at the edge of the roof and not exceeding that weight limit then you shouldn’t have any problems."
