Our Jayco had shades like the new HW Rockwoods and Flagstaffs. Really miss those things. They don't get in the way, go up and down in a snap, and blocked light 10 times better than the thin things we have now in our HW27KS.

My 2016 HW31 has curtains. When fully up they tuck behind the valances. The 31 is the Toy hauler version of the 296. I'm attaching a photo of the part way down. Click image for larger version

Yup the rack was made from stuff I had laying around the house. It can all be purchased at Home Depot, Lowes and most other hardware store. I'm thinking about making another single shelf that will span over the dinette. I'm only 5'7" so there is a lot of waisted head space that could be used for light weight storage.
