German Shepherd

We have yet to take our dog with us camping, but REALLY want to. We are afraid he'll be too threatening to other campers, and God forbid if he were to make a snack out of someone's wiener dog.

Here is my boxer/American bulldog mix. He may be a mix breed but he is 100% spoiled. Camping he gets 2 outdoor dog pens set up together, a dog cot with an egg crate kennel mat on it and a 10x10 canopy for his outside hangout. Inside... let’s just say, he knows how to completely take over the trifold sofa bed from DD or cone and steal the blanket off our bed.

We take our cat and dog with us camping all the time, it's why we bought a camper. Our fur babys ride in the back seat and we don't even know they are back there
Jinks our GSD has come to realy like the new CC

You can really see the Boxer in that side shot of him. That mix is a little strange. You want to see the Boxer, but the bulldog gets in the way. Don't get me wrong, he's a beautiful dog, but my eyes don't seem to want to work right. He does look mighty comfortable.

Seeing some great fur kids here!

We bring our monsters when we go to local camp spots. At National parks or places that we have things to see/do, we leave them with a sitter.

Sitka is 4 and Kenai and Juneau are 5. And the joke of Where’s your sled is getting OLD!!!

I’ve had Huskies, great dogs but major shedders. With three in your camper, how do you keep up with all the hair?? Beautiful BTW

We love taking our dogs camping with us. We would not be able to do as much if we couldn't.

That night was a special event for them. It had been raining all day and stuck in their crates. One of the crates started to take on water so we brought them inside for the night. I turned around to see all three watching Dirty Harry with me!!

We purchased our first RV last August. Every trip we've taken our old chocolate lab, Scout, and he's had so many great adventures. I can't imagine RVing without him!

We have already ran into the breed issue, so we just make note of the parks we can go to and enjoy them.

We take our golden retriever and black labrador with us every trip. They are great girls and do well. You just have more responsibility while at camp but for a dog owner that never really goes away. This is Maya

Here's our 2 Bostons. They go with us almost all of our trips. (Zoey is not wearing her harness in the pic, but normally does so no need for anyone to take me to task - happened once on the forum). For anyone interested, this was at Kring Point State Park in the 1,000 Islands. Seeing some beautiful, happy dogs in this thread!

Pets

We just finished up a three week from TX to Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Lou. and back. We travel w/ our Vizsla-Vidor , Hungarian Retriever. He did pretty good this trip, only ate my back seat seat belt. Way to much energy. He is a lot of fun, but like traveling w/ a circus monkey. He is 16 months old, and starting to calm down, a little. Highly recommend Savanna for visiting w/ a dog, very dog friendly town. He must have gotten petted 75 times a day. A lot of tree covered walking areas w/ fountains and water fountains. Oliver Bentely(organic dog dog treat mfg.) historic walk w/ him was the best of several tours w/ did. He got a bag of samples at the end.

Traveling with pets

Pepper our 2.5 rescue is in the back seat of the truck before we get in after loading up. She owns the Cricket cart which she demands to ride on. Great for getting me out on long morning walks. Carry a bed for her when we camp, she prefers the couch or recliner. Never meets a stranger, gets more attention than we do when we are about cg.

We bought our Travel Trailer in April so that we COULD take the kids (Dogs) with us. They both love to travel. Ricky on the left. Layla on the right.
Plus the portable fenced yard I built so they could have some freedom. The wife loves the gate. Got the idea from posts on the forum.
