We take our 3 year old cat on all trips. He rides well and camps even better! We do use the harness & a leash at all times when outside the RV.

Oh, she's adorable! And very smart to find her way under that sleeping bag.

ID:	16149We travel with our cat. He does fine on the ride, in the camper and on the leash. We take his litter box and food bowl from home.

Cat door

We have a 5th wheel trailer and want to begin to take our cat with us. Once we get to the camp site most of the things in the "basement" come out and leaves an empty space. I am thinking about making a small passageway from the main living area into the basement so the cat can freely go back and forth. It would also make an excellent place to put the litter box. I already made a screen that attaches to the open outside door so she can see out. We took her along the other weekend for two days to see how the basement worked. She loved it and didn't want to come out so we could put her back in the living area with us.

So, has anyone else made a pass thru? I'm thinking the door only needs to be about 6 inches by 8 inches. The entertainment center is on that wall. I'm thinking I can open one of she doors to allow access to the passage. It would also allow me to control where she is.

I'm also wondering what kind of framework I might run into in that wall.

Open to suggestions and comments.

Thanks.

Here is our cat roxy on our first trip out with our new toy hauler. She loves camping. We put a harness on her and tie a rope that is about 10 feet long to her and she thinks she is tied up so she doesn't get to far.

Is this what you use for your cat?

She’ll go for a walk, head back to the camper, use the scratch box & want back out again.

That is the strangest looking tea glass I have ever seen!

wondered if I was crazy considering this, I think my baby girl Miss Snickers may be a good candidate. Our pom, Shadow, LOVES camping ~ I think, primarily because he gets so much attention

See my previous reply. I did go ahead and put in a door to the storage area. Took the cat on a 3 week trip and she settled in like it was nothing. She's not a sit on your lap cat, but, she likes to be with us. We have discovered that even though the neighbor visits every day when we go for 3 or 4 day trips, she gets very lonely so we have made the decision to take her for any trip longer than 4 days. I'd say to at least do a trial run. We first tried a 2 day trip 20 miles from home to see if it worked. We figured if it didn't, we could easily take her home.
