Shoving match? Heck if you're gonna step up and confront someone, you might as well go all the way!

I guess the overall answer in a campground, whether it be bringing dogs or having campfires or playing that rock & roll music those darn kids like, is be respectful of others. Campgrounds are shared space.

We also notice that when campers with dogs introduce themselves, let the neighbours get to know them and their pets (not while they're three-leggin' it on a tree, but afterward maybe) it does a lot to improve things. Hard to complain about a dog you just petted.

Also, the 'OK to pee on the tree' thing does NOT apply to the owner.

Dogs and camping are great but...

I would tolerate a barking dog over drunk foul mouthed party goers any day! Seems like those who complain about the beasts are the ones at 2 am keeping everyone awake.

In my park, the ones partying til 2 are the ones with the barkers! Sort of a double treat.

sorry Welsh...I missed your question.

Here's the abridged version of the story:
we were in the RV, asleep that night. At 3am, we got a call and had to return home for a family crisis. (ie...son at home alone/party) I count the nights stayed only, and not the days I spend there...which number MUCH higher.
