Several years ago, my Setter/Retriever mix got into antifreeze on Christmas morning. We had no idea how long it had been since he had drank it, but it was sometime overnight. Ethylene Glycol turns the kidneys into bricks. So we called the vet and got him there pretty fast. They started IVs of pure grain alcohol on him and ran them for about 30 hours. He was a very hungover pup when we picked him up, but no damage was done and he lived another 9 years.
