Dog pen/fence setup while camping

Hey all- after reading yesterday's thread about how people restrain their dogs at their campsite, I saw some really cool xpen ideas. I typically use a tie out of leash, but would love the flexibility of an extended xpen/fencing type set up. We have 3 bully breed pups and need something a bit taller (nothing extreme) that is secure so they can hang with us more easily and we don't have to fret over going in/out of the camper without one slipping by. We only camp a couple days at a time so preferably something with easy-ish set up and take down.

What kind of containment fencing do you use? Can you post a picture of your sent up?

NOTE: This thread is not about whether you restrain your dogs. Everyone should, plain and simple.

Hi ApexBunk, Here is what we use for a two Pomeranian's ..It's three 24" high folding pens that we connect together....This is an older picture with our old Fleetwood Prowler before we bought are Rockwood depending on the campsite we can configure it accordingly we use a piece of flexible fencing under the steps to prevent any escapes. My wife or I are always outside when they are out so we can keep an eye on them.

Keep in mind a few campgrounds do not allow any type dog pens.

We use ours at the beach with a sandy soil easy to drive small posts in to the ground

Very true and that is a sharp set-up!

Do you call to ask? I'd think campgrounds would love this type of setup. Nice setup!

Wow, that looks like a lot of panels. Do you store these in your truck bed? We have an 8 panel kennel we take for our small Shorkie.

Yeah the three pens are 8 panels each...I carry them in the truck bed they lay flat and aren't very tall when folded so it isn't a problem...We have never been to a campground that said they were a problem or couldn't use them.

We don't use a pen but, since we camp in Wisconsin in the summer, we use a screen house to keep out mosquitoes and black flies. Our pups respect the boundary and we weight the edges down with 2x2 lumber cut into 4' sections. Goes up in 10 minutes, 15 if DH helps. Great solution, we don't have to worry about the dogs doing leash macrame between the chairs, music stand, amp, etc.

Although many do not have a problem with pens most require a leash. After set up unlikely to hear anything about it but certainly could
