Full-Timing with a cat - transporting ?

After deciding to rescue a new cat (2 1/2 yrs old) she is not taking to traveling in our Ford Expedition. We don't use a cat carrier and she is really upset and constantly meow's. She doesn't get carsick - thank heavens. Have wondered if anyone has tried putting a cat IN the trailer. She hids in the bed and with all the covers she would no doubt be safe. I realize they bounce all over but it sure isn't working in the TV.

Has anyone traveling with their adult cat IN the TT or 5'er? She is 8# and otherwise loves our RV and is relaxed and happy in the RV.

FYI: We aren't rookies as cat owners. We had a cat for 16 years but didn't full-time and travel 7000+ miles per winter.

Since posting the above. On the third full consecutive day of 400+ miles, our new cat seemed to be "broken" and finally accept that we are in the SUV all day. She meowed a few minutes and then fell asleep and was calm and quiet all day. No accidents or sickness even though we were going through mountains with elevations as high as 7800 feet. So the lesson for us was that she just needed time to adjust and accept this lifestyle. She is now a "happy camper."
