Goodbye my buddy

Yesterday I said goodbye to my big, fuzzy faced buddy Sampson. Kathy and I were blessed with him for over five years, having adopted him as a companion for Honeysuckle. His furry face, and consistently pleasant demeanor, even when tormented by Click image for larger version

ID:	165486the other pups was always a welcome thing. To anyone who knew him, or even those who didn’t, when he came to you and leaned up against you, you knew you had a friend. To reinforce that, he wasn’t shy when letting you know what he wanted. He’d use his head to pick up your hand so you can give him a good rub. Due to his size, Sam wouldn’t have been classified as a lap dog. But don’t tell him that. As some pictures show, he WAS a lap dog, and a great snuggler. We’re going to miss his singing as a part of the terrible trio or as a solo act. And as anyone who visited will attest, you may have arrived a stranger, but left a friend - covered with yellow hair as a souvenir. Goodbye my friend. I’m so sorry you left us so soon. Our memories of all the love you shared with us will endure, and pictures will help fill the void your untimely and so rapid passing created. Kathy and I love you and we and Lilah, Bonnie, Bentley and Bailey will miss you terribly.

Condolences to you and your family for your loss. We lost our Buddy last year, we know how hard it can be. You are in our prayers. Cherish the memories, they will bring smiles again.

Thank you for sharing your photos of your furry friend. Your post brought tears to my eyes, which does not happen easily. Those of us who have had special animals, especially dogs, can identify with your pain. Time will help, as we all know, but no other dog will take his place in your heart.

A loss of a family pet is so hard. My condolences to you and your family.
We are about to lose ours in the next few weeks. She is 17 yrs old with a tumor starting to form on her forehead. It is inoperable I do not think I could put her thru that even if it was. She is still so happy and energetic for her age still enjoys and demands her daily walk. Hope we can get her on one more camping trip. She just loves going 'plorin' and smelling new things.
Again sorry for your loss.

So very sorry for your loss - losing our yellow lab was one of the hardest pet losses ever - Buddy was a dropoff who just wanted loved

He got his wish and was an awesome camping partner - he developed Cushings Disease and we did not know until too late to beat it ....

33 days later we got a chocolate lab to fill the void - it was too quiet around here

That could be my Lab. He is twelve years old and we are dreading his passing.

Enjoy the memories, pets just do not live long enough.

Animals are like our human companions. We love them and talk to them and then we will all eventually lose each other, but the parts that make it worthwhile are the memories we will forever carry.

Not very well said...but I am sure you understand.

My condolences Joe. I lost one of my best friends a couple of days ago. He was really becoming lethargic and not eating. He was 13 years old. Took him to vet and he was riddled with cancer. Not a clue before. Had him to vet last November for shots and a checkup and nothing was noted. I told the misses that from now on, during the annual checkups I want vet to do blood work. At least we might be able to spot something if there is an elevated white count.

May our furry loved ones rest in peace.

So sorry. As an animal control officer I have seen tons of cruelty and suffering that I have been numbed to. The one thing I cant get used to is the loss of a beloved pet and the pain for the loving owner.

I am so sorry for your loss.
You gave an animal a loving home, and wonderful companionship. In return they reward with unconditional love. It is always heartbreaking to lose such a pet, but what a wonderful legacy to have that special place in our hearts that belongs to them and the many memories that they gave us. I have four, I still miss them very much.
