Nice drug chart. So I looked also at poisonous plants: walnuts..........vomiting, convulsions. My two are always trying to bum me out of nuts when I snack, who knew??

Meloxicam, the active ingredient in the animal anti-inflammatory, Metacam. Our old pooch had been prescribed Metacam by an old vet which we gladly paid through the nose for, for a couple years (the results we're remarkable if not miraculous). We switched vet's and our new vet recommended and prescribed using Meloxicam instead, at a 1/4 of the price. Same medical ingredient, same result.

My 11 yrs + doberman is on Meloxicam since June and it truly is a miracle for her arthritis. It has taken about 5 years off her age. She bounces around the back yard, chasing lizards, etc. She gets 1/2 tab with food each morn, 15 tabs costs me $10/month at Walgreens, well worth it. She does have to have liver testing yearly as it is a steroid. The benefits are worth the risk in this case.
