Camp Buddy

American Akita has been ours for three years now. Loyal, quiet, and loves outdoors. Breed rescues are vetted, evaluated for social skills and usually know basic commands. Yes they are on most list, most often due to poor owners who lack understanding of the breed. Research your choice then choose wisely. She's the reason for our new 2704WS. We needed the wide slide and as part of the family, if she's not welcome, neither are we.

Baby is half lab, half pit and the best camping dog ever. She doesn't bark at everything that moves and is friendly to everyone. She was a stray that had no home so we gave her one. I don't know who was luckier her or us.

We camp with a dachshund and a chihuahua. They seldom bark when camping.

I said Malinois, half joke, half serious. Where do you live? I train dogs for a living. Let me put you in touch with someone that can get you a dog with the right temperament. It doesn't matter the breed...It does matter the dog. Look at all the previous post!

Our senior citizen dog, Golden Retriever, Sierra. She likes tennis balls, people, in that order
She isnt particularly interested in socializing with other dogs but tolerates them. She rarely barks, (squirrels) and though she sheds, it matches the carpet. I have an Electrolux stick vac and vacuum every other day or so, keep her groomed, always travel with her papers and she is chipped, god forbid we get separated. Crate-trained, although the crate doesn't travel with us. We also have to medicate for anxiety for the travel,,thunderstorms, hail storms, and fourth of July fireworks. She's on arthritis meds, and cataracts are making it dicey going in and out of the camper.

"Prince" enjoyed our camping trip last weekend.
I'm very glad we trained him as a therapy dog
as he does well around others &
was really relaxed as we walked around the sites.
