Pet friendly Insect repellent

What do you Pet lovers do for Ants or other insects when camping with our furry friends? We are heading south in a couple weeks and heard so many stories of how bad the ants and other insects are. Any info would be much appreciated. TY!

Just have to be careful and watch for the fireant beds. Nothing will keep them off if you're standing in the bed. Look for a loose pile of soft dirt with little holes in it and move very swiftly if you disturb them. They swarm all over in a flash and all bite at the same time. Other insects don't seem to be much of a bother but we don't leave the dogs outside if the insects are bothering us......
