Sad Day

Most of you who have camped with us at the FROG Rallies know our 3 shelties.
This morning we had to put the smallest and youngest one, Lexi, down. She had lost some weight and was having some difficulty keeping food down. Last Thursday she stopped eating. Blood work Friday showed she had kidney disease. She was being treated with IV's and spent the weekend at University of Florida's emergency clinic and was put on a feeding tube Sunday. There was some improvement then the numbers went the other way. More blood work was done yesterday and today we learned she had also developed pancreatitis which is not treatable.

After much education from the vet we decided it was best to put her down this morning. She will be sadly missed but has crossed the rainbow bridge and is no longer suffering.

Bill,

I’m so sorry to hear about Lexi. I know how hard it is to loose a furry friend. May fond memories of her help comfort you, knowing she had a good life. You did everything you could do to help her, which is just like you two.

So sorry to hear about Lexi. We met the family last year at BamaGanza and was glad to have the opportunity. We have a Blue Merle Sheltie and he is one of our kids. Our deepest sympathy and hope to see you at a Rally this year.

It is always hard to lose a dog. Cherish the time you had together and the experiences you shared. You both are in our thoughts.

Sorry for your loss. We went through the same thing with our beloved doodle Bailey about a year ago. Talking about it on here helped us get through it about greatly. Good folks on here. We got a miniature schnauzer about six months ago. His name is Tucker. We still tear up when we talk about our doodle, but the new pup is filling the void wonderfully. I told Bailey when we were saying our farewell to wait for me on the other side.

Our sincere condolences on the loss of Lexi. We have had to make that decision to let them cross the Rainbow Bridge five times over the years. It is never easy to make that decision but usually the best one for your beloved fur baby. God Bless!
