Cassie is sweet. We also play the search game for dog beaches. Few and far but it's like finding gold when we stumble on one. Murphy's first was at a dog beach on Lake Michigan. Big waves and cold water that day but he learned that he likes to chase the seagulls. That was a hoot

Here's a couple of our dogs when they were puppies. We typically travel with 3 Bullmastiffs to the dog shows. We also take them camping. We use crates and ex pens when camping. We also use an awning that can be completely enclosed with sidewalls zipped up to prevent other dogs from coming into my dog's area. With our dog showing hobby, we are extremely aware of the damage negligent owners caise by their not picking up their dogs' poop and by owners allowing their dogs to run loose and run up on other dogs. Nothing irritates me more than a thoughtless owner who insists their off lead dog is friendly and then gets upset because I have my dogs under control and theirs is posturing or trying to hump mine. Our last camp trip, I had just put 2 pups onut in their individual ex-pen to go pee when I heard one them bark as I was pouring a cup of coffee...this breed is known to be quiet and bark when there is reason. I stepped out to check and discovered 2 loose dogs harrassing mine under my awning. My dogs shushed as soom as I was with them but the 'visitors'then began to bark at me. Not wise. I got my leashes and was in process of capturing loose dogs when the owner appeared...apologizing. They had let their dogs loose to pee, expecting them to stay in their little camping area...right (not)
my suggestion to make camping pleasant is to be responsible and aware of others. Carry poop bags (we always carry several rolls in our trailer), keep your dogs leashed or contained and quiet. Brong their favorite toys to keep them occupied and be prepared to bring them inside if they wont stop barking. We walk ours thru the campground to let them see the new surroundings and always keep them on lead...safe from picking up and eating anything bad, safe from running into woods/animals and preventive measure to keep other campers minds at ease (because our dogs either look cute or scary.).

Nice write-up handbuilder, and beautiful dogs. No matter how much this is discussed and talked about, and written about, there always seems to be one or two at any campground.

Funny thing happened with our Lab Retriever last weekend... a bunny rabbit hopped into our campsite hung around for a couple of minutes and then had a drink out our dogs' water bowl... all behind his back. By the time the Lab saw the bunny it was too late

My wife and Harley our German Pointer / Lab mix... we think.
This was on her first camping trip which was only a week after we adopted her from the Macomb County Animal Shelter.
My Father in Law's Classic Cruiser Cikara 19 in the background.
And my favorite picture...
