We had a Dane who did the same. She sat with us on the couch and everywhere else...Once while walking through the woods my wife and I sat down on a fallen tree to take a break. Our "Babe" did her very best to try to sit with us on that tree. It was one of the funniest sights I've ever seen. She never got balanced enough to sit on that log with us - but it wasn't from lack of trying.

Friends of ours and his Old English Mastiff.
A not-so-relaxing day on the road. :roflmao:

My dad had hunting dogs my entire childhood. Amazing to watch 'em work.
Squirrel dogs
Rabbit dogs
Bird dogs
Deer dogs
Our dog Fred? (shrug) he'll harass a squirrel or two in the back yard *if* he feels like it, but mostly he just hunts treats/snacks.

Our Chihuahua Tequila aka "Da Boss." She hikes (claim to fame 10.8 mile hike), rock climbs, travels, sniffs, growls, smells the roses, always in for a good hunt (squirrels, rabbits, deer, etc). Great camper!

Very sorry to hear about your loss. That pain kept me from having dogs for quite a few years after losing my two black labs.
Then one day this one walked in our driveway;
But, sad to say, we could not keep her from running off. She would jump fences, break collars, what ever it took. One day (6/11/12) she took off, we could not find her. Next day we got the call no pet owner ever wants to get.
So that was it, no more. No more heart ache, no more feeling like you didn't provide good enough care, no more tears shed.
Then this past June 12th, this guy came in that same driveway;
No collar, no tags. Ribs showing through. Even with his ribs showing, he was over 90lbs. Took him all around the nieghborhood, no one had lost him. Took him to get scanned for micro chip, sure enough, he has one. Took two days to get a response from previous owner, but they didn't want him anymore.
So now the chip is in my name, we changed his name from "Cooper" to "DIESEL", he rules the roost and has taken over hearts.
Hopefully the electric fence will work with him, I think it will, he does not run away like the Siberian Husky did.
He just wants to play tug of war. He's hell on garden hoses!
Vet says he's Mastiff, and Boxer? Less than (2) years old. (great big baby!)

Sometime I wonder if that's Gods way we lost our English pointer to cancer then rescued an English pointer from a kill shelter hours from the end of his time. Ribs showing but here he is now happy and healthy.

I miss bath time. It was fun chasin' her around the tub. It wasn't like a greased pig....more like a drunken squirrel on crack. Are the good times really over for good?
