I have two girls, both Australian shepherds. Aussies are notorious for "blowing their coats" in spring, so to head off the fur-explosion, I usually shave them down to a "puppy cut" in the spring.

The younger dog Abby, (the copper point) is very nervous, and I can only do about 15-20 minutes of trimming at a time before she spazzes completely out, so it ususally takes a couple sessions to get everything. I generally shave whatever part presents itself as she moves around. These are the "before" and "during" pictures. I should finish her up tonight.

I don't have a picture of the older dog Katie (the blue merle) before I started 'mowing' her, but I do have an after. She is very laid-back, and I can get her all at one time. In fact, I sometimes feel like I have to check her for a pulse while I am trimming her.

Tim

Buddy, our chihuahua/terrier rescue officially claiming his spot the day we picked up our new TH! Also, just some cute pics, cause cute is what he does best!

He was skin and bones when we found him in front of our shop. The vet figures he had been on the street for about a month, maybe two. He was covered in sores aand he was filthy! He was almost dead. He had a choke chain starting to embed itself into his neck. We had to cut it off. He is also afraid of sticks, brooms, etc. I just don't understand people who abuse animals.

He is the best, most loving dog and he loves to go camping. Like some others have posted, he worries when we start packing the trailer. We let him sit in the truck with the door open when we're packing so he knows that he's going.

As long as he's with Mom and Dad, life is great. His favorite person in the whole world is our granddaughter, Scarlett as you can guess by one of the pictures.

Awesome story. We had a very similar rescue story too (all except the collar). Best dog in the world when back to health. I really liked the first photo. A really nice cozy dog bed put down but nope...I'll take the leather recliner sofa (as much as I can take).

Thanks Toby,

Rescues make the best pets. They are so loyal and loving. I believe that they know they've been saved and never forget. Buddy still has nightmares and we have had him for seven years. All I have to do is put my arm around him and he sighs and calms down

As for the sofa, I don't think he knows that he's a dog. He watches TV with me. He takes showers with dad every Sunday and he goes to work greeting the customers at our shop. And, as the picture shows, he tried his hand at flute repair but it just wasn't his thing. Lol!

They're ready for camping! So much more room than we had in the Scamp. It will be our first time camping with both Danes so it should be interesting. We had two other Danes we camped with and they did well. We just adopted these guys in the last couple months. Smudge (the terrier) is an old pro at camping.

Here are some better pictures.

A comfy water-resistant outdoor dog bed is nice for lounging by the fire...of course, our furkids use the sofa once we all go inside!

Here is our year and half old yellow lab Sadie.
Nothing keeps her out of the water, not even ice cold water during our first camping trip of the season in early April!
