dcheatwood,

I know her grief. We own a Lavender Crested Amazon that we inherited from DH's mom (may she RIP) but before "Cletus" we owned a Quaker parrot named "Clovis". He was the most amazing little guy I've ever seen. He spoke in complete sentences, I kid you not, and had a vocabulary better than many 12 year old humans.

We were dog sitting my aunt's doxy...the rest is tragic history. DH and I grieved bitterly over the loss of our little guy and could not bring ourselves to bury him. He resides, in a place of honor, preserved and sealed with his favorite toys, in DH's former cigar humidor, on a book shelf here in the great room.

BTW, Cletus is approximately 20 years old now, but it's common for this breed to be 70! I'm considering bringing him camping with us on a trial trip soon. I have a Lexan like "Wingabago" bird carrier that would make that easy for all of us.

Charlie, Sadie, Smitty, and Joey. All will be going camping with us, with the exception of Smitty who will be home holding down the fort.

We got Charlie at a shelter, and they had no history on him. We think he's part German shorthaired pointer and possibly greyhound with perhaps some pit bull. He runs like the wind. They had trouble placing him because he was so high energy and they said he was bad with children. All he needed was a few months of structure and love, and he's now the best dog.

Here are a couple color shots of him.

Here's our little camping buddy. Where ever we camp, it's all about Idgie. She is 2 yrs old, a rescue we adopted when she was 5 months old. We think she is a Brussels Griffon-Chihuahua mix. She thinks she is a 90 lbs Rottweiler!

Here are some pics of our Fred. He's a rescue and our vet says he's "probably" half poodle, half doxy. I think he denies the poodle part. (grin)

He looks to be half doxy, half Irish Setter, if you could wrap your head around that.

The first pics are of him in a hotel in Florida. He'd sashay through that lobby like he OWNED it.

The last two are of him in our 5er. He *insists* on having a pillow every time he takes a nap, and naps are often with him.

Here's one more of him in the hotel room. BTW, he'd never set foot in a hotel before that trip, and he took it in stride like he'd been living in one all his life.

Thanks Deb. It's been two weeks since we picked her up and the diarrhea hasn't stopped. We thought it was from the move but I don't think so now. Our breeder recommend some pepto so we will try that. We are using the same food and saw the vet last week. Poor baby was covered in it at 4 am and needed a bath. Any suggestions? We are getting worn out.

K.C. is bummed!
His Master Card is over the limit and he lost all his cash in a game of stud. Camping World is his favorite store but all he got was a ride in the buggy.

This is our Capone. We adopted him at 5 months old thanksgiving weekend. He is now approximately 10 months old. We know mama was a boxer and American bulldog cross. Daddy was a stranger in the night but our best guess is beagle.
