Step mod for our labs

Steps are not easy to navigate for our chocolate. And 5th wheel steps have to seem scary from her perspective because she hesitates for a long period. Out of concern that she would fall into them ... My toes notice the difference too.
These mods do require removal to fold them away.

Very neat , our malamute did the same thing. We tried the carpet wraps.She seems much better as well.Her front feet don't slide away so she feels more at ease when climbing in

I think they dont like the void at the back though as we have noticed it when walking up old wooden walk ways as well

Our Henry, boxer dog, is getting too old to get up and down the steps. Hubby has been picking him up.

Carpet wraps worked for our black lab, too.

I also discovered that he didn't like being able to see 'through' the steps, due to their open backs. Though the steps must be folded for travel, the solution was an easy one. We got a piece of lightweight outdoor carpet, and attached springs to all four corners. The springs attached to the top and bottom steps from the underside, and don't interfere with human traffic. Easy on, easy off, and the dog see 'solid' steps.
