We have two Doberman.
Porsche is our 2.5 yr old black & tan bitch that we show. She was given her name because she's very competitive and sporty.
Ira is our 8.5 yr old red boy. He's Porsche's uncle by birth. He was named after one of my best high school buds.
Porsche...
Ira...

We have Callie, our female Lhasa/Maltese, and Sam our Miniature Yorkshire. Callie was obtained from a breeder. We adopted Sam from the Humane Society. Sam isn't his original name...The good folks at the Humane Society had named him Elroy (why not Astro? That was the Jetson's dog, not Elroy!). Sam's story ends happily though.. The USDA obtained Sam from a breeder that had too many dogs, and the Humane Society took him from the USDA. I didn't know it, but breeders tattoo a number inside the ears of their herd for record keeping. So, #317, Elroy became Sam; short for Secret Agent Man. They've given you a number, and taken away your name.
There have always been dogs and camping in our family... Buffy, our pure bred Cocker, Ace, (after Ace Frehley of KISS) our Cockalier (Cocker/King Charles), and Layla, a Chocolate Lab. They are all camping at Rainbow Bridge now waiting for us to rejoin them, but they don't want it to be anytime soon. Neither do we.

The Lab's name is 'Freedom Tracker' b/c he was born on the 4th of July. Mostly call him Tracker but he's not really good at it...
The stay at home cat is named 'Newt... Speaker of the House' b/c he has such a loud meow.

We lost our chow/corgi within a couple of days of our son's 11th birthday. He was devastated(so were we). So a couple of days later, a friend of mine told me a friend of his had two puppies left out of a litter of 10. They are Australian Shepherd and Blue Heeler mixes. My son couldn't pick out which one of the remaining two that he wanted, so we came home with both. He named them Georgia(top) and Ginger(bottom). As you can tell, they rule the roost!

We got our boxer/beagle mix from a family when he was 4 months old. They had named him Shane. We didn't want to keep that name for personal reasons. I had the shanks (golf term) at that time so we decided his name would be Shank. Now after golf if I shank any, I go home and kick the dog (jk)

We have Wally, his mom Clare, and her mom, Sprague. They are all Bullmastiffs. We recently let Wally's sister (Tater) go live with a friend who lost her dog of 13 years (her grand uncle) We miss Tater but she stays busy by helping their hearts heal with her silly puppy antics. This is Wally a few months ago, we look forward to traveling with him...
