Cabela's charging $5 dump fee.

Just noticed last night that Cabela's installed Credit Card Fee collections at there previously free dump stations. Probably cost thousands to install.

Pathetic corporate greed!! I'll never shop there again.

Boycott anyone?

Is That at the main office CG in Neb. That's the only one that I know has a CG. But they will pick you up at your site and return you for free from the store in an ATV. I found a lot of places charging now like Flying J, Loves and many others. Maybe not all but there seems to be a theme here. You pay at a full hook-up site too it's just built in. Ask for Water and electric only same about 5.00 cheaper. But most CG let you dump for free on the way out, but your still paying either way with the rates they charge now. Why boycott, you think that will change anything? they will just close it down for camping. Then you can go down the road and pay 49.00 per night. All comes down to choices which we all still have.... Damn you have to pay for air now to fill your tires. Now that upsets me being I was raised with full service stations and fuel is at least 75% higher. Only State I know you can't pump your own gas is Oregon.

Like it doesn't cost them to put in the dump sites? Are we not becoming an "entitlement" society? Unbelievable!

If they want me to shop there they can "entice" me with a free dump station. Didn't say I was "entitled" to anything.

Tell me about something that ISN'T going up in price. The membership to ARRL (ham radio organization) is going up $10, my membership to Academy of Model Aeronautics (miniature aircraft assn.) is going up $10, RX prescriptions going up, health insurance going through the roof with high deductibles. And all that with a SS increase of $25 a month, I think I am going backwards.

I don't expect to be able to dump for free, as said, it cost a pretty tidy sum just to install a facility. You can't use the sewer system at your S&B without a fee, it is usually a percentage of your water use.

Sure sounds like everyone has to "entice" you with a free dump station to get you to shop at their stores.

It's illegal to pump your own fuel in New Jersey too. Only Oregon and New Jersey disallow it.

I think they should charge and why shouldn't they. Now they should also have a setup where you buy something you can dump for free. Couple gas stations like that here, fill up with fuel, water and even dump station is free

$5 to dump is fair, especially if you are camping (I use that term loosly in this case) for free.I know what it costs to put in a dedicated dump station because I just did it in june, but if anyone stops by they can use it for free.

What's the big deal?? Several years ago, we stopped by a local KOA to empty before we got home and were charged $10. We like Cabela's and they're doing nothing different than anyone else. Be glad WalMart doesn't charge for overnight parking -- imagine a bunch of people would be unhappy then.

More than fair. Why you think it should be free is beyond comprehension.

I wouldn't have an issue paying Cabela's $5.00 for use of their dump facility. Feel a dump fee should be included with the price you pay to stay at state parks or other places that don't have full hook ups but have no issue paying $5.00 at Cabela's or any other place where I'm not paying to stay.

If five bucks it to much check with local waste treatment plants and the county fair grounds, both are "free" around here.

Considering I am practically wearing all Cabelas clothes.. Have their things on my truck and use them for camping I think boycotting would not end well for me.. LOL

I guess it the $5 is too much I'll give up a cup of Starbucks to make the difference. Too much entitlement in this world today.
