Dealer Warranty

I was just at my local dealer yesterday picking up a part. This was a part I bought from the manufacturer, not a warranty issue. For SOME reason they shipped the part to this dealer instead of me. I guess it was the last address they had on me, I'm not sure.

Anyway, I walked into the Service and waited on my Service Adviser to get off of the phone. He saw me and clearly motioned to me about the paper he was referencing while talking to some guy.

What he was telling the guy, over and over, was "Hey, I don't care WHERE you bought it. Why would I care? I get warranty money from manufacturers, and I honestly don't even know where it was bought. I rarely even know if it was bought here or not. I do service work.......and I charge the customer or the manufacturer, and I get paid either way".

The guy was in Georgia!! 600 miles away. He was complaining loudly that he had a Dometic A/C problem (leaking oil, same one I had) and his dealer (CW) wouldn't fix it. The S.A. showed me the printout from Dometic that showed step by step how to attempt to clean it, what to do, what steps to take if that didn't work, etc.......all at Dometic's expense.

I'm in Conway, AR. There's only one dealer that I know of. So you can figure it out. But they'll work on your unit, and they don't care where you bought it.

And that is 100% contrary to what I read here daily. And I just thought someone ought to know these dealers DO exist. They sure as heck worked on mine several times, no charge yet!

That's refreshing - based on some of the horror stories here. With our previous fifth wheel we had an extended warranty thru a private company. There was a dealership near Canton, TX that worked on it frequently and always received payment from the extended warranty company.

I will say....the space where you park your trailer to get in line for service is non-stop full of multiple trailers, every day.......
