How long

I made a appointment January 17,2018 for warranty work April 9 I dropped it off. The said it would be a couple weeks before they would look at it. Now a month has passed. I called them back no time line. Just frustrated

My TT sat on the service dealers lot for 8 weeks for minor warranty work....A new rubber seal around the front window and a new water pump and to fix a piece of decorative wood trim piece that fell off of the inside of the slide out....Luckly we had no trips planned.

To top matters off when we went to pick it up someone had urinated all over the toilet seat and the bathroom floor of which I pointed it out and was told no way the service workers are supposed to use a customers RV and the service manager suggested I brought it in that way......Well my wife proceeded to set them straight and I was told they would get to the bottom of it Blah Blah Blah of course I never heard back or was offered an apology.

The dealer was Giant RV in Montclair, CA While I was waiting they kept making excuses for it taking so long from waiting on parts to getting a tech to fix the issues....I never needed any other warranty work and if I did I would never go back to them.

I always hear about people dropping off their rv's for service work, warranty or not. And having to wait weeks or months. I bought my Polomino Sabre 34REQS-6 in April 2012. And I have never had to wait for more then a couple of days for them to take care of my rig. I guess I got lucky and got a great dealer. Mantelli trailer sales Lockport, N.Y.

If you didn't buy from them, then it's very common.

If you did, I'd call the owners.

I tell everyone who brings this up: "Stop taking your RV to dealers for service"!!!! We have been using independent, service only shops or mobile for all our service for years now. And yes, most can handle warranty and extended warranty, getting pre-approval before work starts.

Now our wait times are hours or days, usually just the wait for parts. The work has been on average, much better.

Try it!

And some people think I'm crazy to just fix things myself rather than do the whole "dealer-warranty" thing...

I think anybody that owns an RV fixes what they can.

But there are some problems I just can't fix by myself. So I have to rely on someone else, and dealers are not the answer from me. And if expensive parts are required, and covered by warranty, why wouldn't I take advantage of that?

But I do agree Dealers service will be very slow and not always very good. Thus the move to independent service shops.

Not all R/V dealers are worthless but a heck of a lot of them are.

We have a good one in our area that won't make you wait months.

I always advise anyone purchasing a new R/V to ask the dealer... "how long will I wait to get warranty service?"

As mentioned by Scott, mobile R/V techs are a good alternative.

I read these posts of folks dropping off their R/V's and waiting months without it ever getting looked at and I cringe!
What else in your possession do you wait months to have repaired? I simply can't believe people are letting this happen.

I haven’t and hope I never do use a dealer for warranty or customer pay work. If it’s a warrantable repair I have contacted Prime Time and they send me the parts I need for the repair. Only one time have the asked for the defective part back and they supplied a prepaid shipping label. I fortunate I can and enjoy doing the wolf myself.
