Thumbs up RV WholeSalers experience - STEP 1

Hi All,

We initiated the process of purchasing a motor home through rv wholesalers.

I will use this thread for step by step update.... STEP 1

Make: Forest river
Model: Forester MBS 2401 W
Add on's: preferred package, side view cameras

Got price quotes from local dealers and rvdirect on similarly equipped sunseekers and foresters. Rv wholesalers worked with me on comparing options and provided the most competitive and fair quote.

Worked with Cyndi fowler finalizing the ordering process. She was very patient and respectful with me through the process, explained everything and checked, double checked and answered all my questions as we priced different options and models till we placed an order with FR.

Cyndi clearly communicated that once we place the order there will be limited communication till we get closer to delivery date, I think this was a good callout as I have read some reviews where folks have mentioned limited communication being an issue... I think letting me know up front was a good thing to set clear expectations.

I brought my own financing to the table which rv wholesalers beat by about half a percentage point at least at the get go. We will see if this holds at the time we close the deal. I worked with Kendra shoffstall who was equally nice, skilled and patient with us as Cyndi was and guided me through the application and documentation process.

It has been about 2 weeks since we placed the order... Now we wait... 6-8 weeks to go.....

Very positive experience so far.... I will post step by step updates as things progress....

STEP 2

Got a call from RVW today stating that MH will roll from assembly on Nov 10th, then go for paint etc... possible move to RVW around Nov 19th.

Glad they called ... They mentioned that this usually does not happen till we get closer. I was not expecting so a nice surprise.

Wow that's quick. Spoke to them Thursday night as I'm considering them for my new forester gts 2801. They have so far been very helpful.

Step 3

Rolled off assembly on 11/11 (previously quoted 11/10)

Was told there was a problem with the hood, replacement was ordered....

Latest update is that new hood installed and the MH was sent to paint....

Hopefully will be ready to be picked up by dealer next week....

We are planning on ordering a Forester 3051S from RVW in the next couple of months. Will be very interested in how everything goes with your PDI and service at delivery from RVW. Have heard very good things about them.

No updates.... Not sure how long the paint takes. Seems awfully long.. Ours is not full body paint and just the skirt paint is standard. Hopefully will hear something next week.

STEP 4

Pickup scheduled on the 18th...

Brad has been awesome with his responses so far....

We will leave next week Thursday, it is about an 8 hour drive... PDI at 11 on Friday.... Paperwork afterwords

Planning on staying the night at a local RV park... Hopefully everything works... If not back at the dealership Saturday for tweaks and back home late Saturday or Sunday....

Kids are excited..... Hopefully it is a good experience... an experience regardless... Since this is our first motor home....

Will post before, during and after......

Since this is late fall, early winter... KOA is closed and the state park next to RVW is walk up only with limited service... Any suggestions on where to spend the night are welcome

I agree that's right on target. Two more questions did rvw call you when it was going into production or did you call them to follow up? also did they send you a build sheet when your unit was on assembly? I ordered mine last month and am super excited.

I live about 30 miles from eve just stopped there today on my way back from Columbus for work. Not sure what direction you are traveling home but the only campground that way that I know is open is easy camp. Never been there looks fairly clean not really a rv park more of a small campground on the side of the highway here is the link let me know if I could help in any other way. Also my fairgrounds also allowed camping and has water and electric as well as dump station not sure if it is on your way but it is van wert county fairgrounds

Easy camp

No to the first question but Brad did call me to tell me when it will roll off assembly. No to the second one, not sure what you mean by the build sheet on assembly. I did not ask for it nor was it promised to be delivered. But this is our first time so I may be ignorant.
