100lb Propane Tank

I am adding a 100lb Propane tank to my system ( 2016 Columbus 381 FL) has anyone done this and can tell me how and where you hooked it up at. Everything I have tried ends up with needing another fitting that no place local seems to have in stock. Thanks for your help.

Are you adding it to replace the existing cylinder(s), or in addition to them?

Did you buy the Extend-A-Stay kit or are you just trying to assemble the parts yourself?

No I did not, we ordered the tank from Home Depot and assumed the tanks valve and connection would be a typical QD Female like all the other 20 and 30 lb tanks in the RV world. I think I am close to plumbing into the regulator on the driver side and replacing a 20lb tank with the 100lb. Thanks for replying to my post.

You will need to buy some connections. I have seen some people making it work.

By this to adapt the 100lb cylinder to the 20/30lb style connector.

And switch out one of your hoses to reach the 100 pounder.

This is what I used to connect a 100 lb. tank to my 5er.

This connects to one of your existing propane tanks, and the pigtail from that tank connects to the other end. There is then the port to connect this:

To connect from the above "tee" to the outboard tank.

Worked well for me last year. It allows you to use your existing tanks and the outboard tank at the same time (in my case, giving me 160 lb capacity (2 - 30 lb 5er tanks and the 100 lb outboard tank)).

Hi Sparks Full Timers,

One thing you might want to check before traveling with a tank that size, is the regulations at any tunnel you may be traveling through. Every tunnel seems to be different. They don't mind the "normal" size tanks as long as they are turned off.

I guess also, that if you are hiding it in the basement, then they won't know unless you are pulled over.
