2014 Columbus 325RL

We picked up our 2014 (built April 3rd) 325RL. Here are the changes in 2014 models.

1. Three step entry changed to four step entry and the steps are now radius (curved).
2. Slide/light control panel used to be on wall next to the frig. Has now been moved to top of the coat closet in the hall next to steps to bedroom. Closet is thence shorter but fully usable.
3. Combined entry door is now back to separate screen door and outer door.
4. Basement radio has no ipod/USB connector. Radio has earphone style input jack.
5. Subwoffer is in entertainment center behind the fireplace (may only apply to this model.

Oddities: The TV is a Hisence and the TV is wired to the Samsung theater sound system using analog (2 channel red and white cable). This because the TV puts out digital sound (5.1 surround) only via coax cable
connector and the Samsung only accepts fiber optic (TOSLINK). I have a powered coax to fiber converter coming from amazon so that we can get the full surround experience. The sound system is great in 2 channel mode and should be even better in digital 5.1 mode.

Love the 6 point Ground Control leveling system. Works like a champ.

Beware on the bottom channel on the shower doors. Ours was put in backwards so that the water that goes down the glass doors collects in the channel and drains onto the bathroom floor instead of back into the shower.

Thanks

Here it is from my order at Amazon.

CG2 Cables to go 29115 6 feet, S/PDIF Digital Audio Coax Cable
Amazon Basics Digital Optical Audio Toslink Cable
C2G Cables to go 40018 Coaxial to Optical Digital Audio Converter

Total with free shipping was $30.12

By the way, I missed one new feature on 2014 Models. LED light string beneath the Awning. Must be 150 LED lights. works with awning in or out. Labeled on the panel as porch light and works wonderful for evening outside entertaining.

What's your opinion on the TV & Samsung unit? Do you know which Samsung unit it is?

The TVs are D77 series (32 in bedroom and 47?? in entertainment center. Don't have the Samsung model handy. Installed the digital to fiber adaptor mentioned above and works great. Now have real 5.1 surround sound. My guess is the buyer at Palomino never looked at the specs of the TV and Samsung so they don't connect. I am glad they did not go cheap on the sound system. The Samsung is nearly as good as my Yamaha sound system at home. We also peeled of the cheesy cheap looking tile backsplash in the kitchen (easy when the unit is new). We installed stainless steel mosaic tile that comes in peel and stick 12" squares from Lowes. Looks WAY better than what it came with.
