2014 Columbus 340RK Slideout Damaging Floor

I just bought a really nice 340RK that is like brand new. Much to my surprise I found black marks and a small tear in the flooring after we got it home and opened it up. These marks were not there when we inspected it at the RV dealer. This happened with one opening! I am sure that it must have left black marks before and they just cleaned them up. So I investigated what is riding on the floor. I expected to see rollers, but no its just strips of black plastic! COLUMBUS ENGINEERS ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I went back to my RV Dealer and they tell me there is no adjustment and there is nothing that can be done!

Please other Columbus owners, what can I do to keep my floor from being damaged? I thought of getting some teflon sheets to place between the floor and the crappy plastic strip on the bottom of the slideout.

Any of you other owners have this issue?

Im sure the slide can be adjusted. Slideslickers work great to protect carpet , just remove the spiked nibs if your going to use them on a lino floor.
Where are the black strips you mention located?
There is a black wearbar that some slide-outs ride on. And slide wear strips on the edge of some slide outs.

If your unit is new it should be covered under warranty.

Pics are always helpful.

Oh, and welcome to the forum

On our Flagstaff when we took the carpet out, the slide would put marks on the linoleum when it sat down when retracted so we just put a thin rugs under each end of the slide when it lifts and just before it sits down. So far after over a year and towing around 3K miles it has worked fine.

I also have a 2014 Columbus 340RK and had the same Issue with black marks on my floor but without any cuts or scrapes.. I use the slide slickers and put them down whenever I bring my slides in...I only use one with my refrigerator slide at at the end below my refrigerator and the other at the corner on the opposite slide by the entry door.. Haven't seen a mark on the floor since.. its a good product.. come to think about it, I haven't seen a mark on the slide slicker's either...

Same issue on my Sabre Rear Kitchen. We put blue painters tape (2 inches wide & 10 long) on the mark when first noticed, then silver duct tape on top of that, right over the rub mark on the linoleum front and rear end of the slide. Painters tape prevents silver from sticking to floor permenantly and super slick silver duct tape allows for slide to move without damage. After 25 +/- slide movements just replace tapes.
