27ft. Puma 5th Wheel

Anyone out there towing this trailer with a Ford 150 , with the new Eco Boost 6 Cyl. Engine?

My friend tows a similar size KZ fifth, probably about the same weight, with zero problems. But he does have the max tow package, which I think is a must for anyone using an Ecoboost to haul.

In addition to the max tow package, you'll probably want the max payload package which puts the trucks' GVWR at 8200 lbs. That will provide sufficient payload capacity to handle pin weights as much as 2000 lbs dependent on cab configuration, wheelbase and trim level.

just saying "27ft. Puma 5th wheel isn't enough info.

what year and model is the Puma? ultra-lite or not?
does the F150 have the HD tow package? what rear end ratio does it have?

the OP states it's a 253FBS Puma and the F150 does have the HD tow package.

that said, that model has a HUGE CCC for a trailer that size, 4226lbs.

the fictional "dry" weight is 6910lbs. and the "dry" pin weight is 1026lbs.
so, i'd say that you should be able to tow it easily unless you find a way to load up so mucht that you reach the GVWR.
