295RL/320RS questions

Hi, I have a few questions for the Columbus owners.

I see a lot of posts about RVer's mention getting a fiver less than 35' long due to restrictions in national parks? Any truth in that? Should I avoid the 320RS if I plan on going to lots of parks?

Does the Columbus have an extended hitch? Does it require a slider with a 6 3/4' bed? I see in one thread that some mention the Reese Revolution. This doesn't appear to be a factory option so I guess they are being added at the dealership.

I assume the 5500W genny is propane? If you have one how quiet is it? I had a gas powered Onan in my toyhauler and not only was it loud it vibrated the whole trailer!

What are the dimensions of the cargo doors (I am trying to see if my Yamaha generator will fit). If it will fit I was thinking of mounting it on a heavy duty slide and just slide it out to run it.

What is the height with the second a/c unit installed?

Thanks

295RL/320RS questions

I've got the 325 I've never had a problem with length for a 6.75 bed I would get a slider hitch when I had my short bed dodge I got in to a few situations that I needed it. It has the extended hitch on it if your looking at the revolution I would get the sidewinder 5th airborne The height with the bedroom ac is about 13'

We have the Onan generator. It is propane. And later added the remote control for automatic switchover. It is relative quite. Much smoother and quite than any gasoline or diesel genset.

Why is the propane generator quieter than a gasoline powered? The Onan specs show the same dB rating for both the gas and propane.

Thanks

I do not believe a propane gen is quieter. It's probably more about being a different brand.

I forgot to mention that I ended up ordering a Columbus 295 RL. I am looking forward to many camping trips this year as I have gotten out of the hay business and will have much more free time for fun!

Took delivery of a 295 15 in September. Very nice unit but did have some issues if you were interested. Be happy to give you a list.
