I actually use the outside tank, and the single tanks before I use the 2nd inner tank. My main reason for that is that its much more difficult removing the 2nd tank on the slide than it is removing the single or the outter tank. Just how I am doing it, but I still use it as a "Backup"

Yep, same way I mentioned. I do have all three on however. The auto switch will (hopefully) do its job and then I do as you wrote.

My single tank doesn't start flowing until both the curb side tanks are empty. I think the regulator on the single tank is set at a slightly lower pressure so it won't flow into the line until the pressure drops as the double tanks empty. My plan is to plumb the two outer tanks together and replace them with 30 lb cylinders. Then the inner 20lb tank will serve as the reserve.
