320 RS Spare tire

Do I need to move my spare tire on my Columbus 320 RS. We are taking a cross country trip and I read somewhere that the spare tires were dragging the ground on low spots. Has anyone had problems with this?

No dragging problem...BUT, I've had to tighten the cable a few times over the miles. The spare starts to drop down so I occasionally have to tighten up the cable using a 3/4" socket.

I removed mine and keep it in the front hatch by the propane tanks.. It was dragging as I started backing into my driveway when I brought it home from the dealership..
