320rs basement radio

Just took delivery of my 320rs. While at the dealer (whom was out in the middle of cornfields) I was not able to get any radio stations. I figured it was because we were in the middle of no where. I got the unit home (40 miles south of Chicago) and I still cannot get any stations (just fuzz). The volume and tuning work but it seems like the antenna is not connected. Anyone know where the antenna is located for the basement radio??

It is a small "wavy" metal strip taped across one of the floor joist in your basement. Either one joist in facing DS or the joist against the wall facing ODS.

Lol how much harder would it have been to just put a normal antenna on the roof ?

It's actually a decent sizes antenna. Almost running all the way across the basement. I Haven't really been able to get great reception either but I have been way back in the woods when I tried it. They are also putting actual car stereos (With CD) in there instead of the little round controller thingy.

Funky thanks for the response. Being that I am only 40 miles south of Chicago I should be getting more than 1 station (and it is a station I do not like). It looks like I have to take one of the stairs off to get to the back of the radio? I just want to make sure all is hooked up (I see alot on these forums where stuff is hooked up wrong or not even hooked up at all).

If it's like most 12v systems, pull the stereo out. There should be an antenna connector coming from it. My guess is that it's not connected. I know of 2 new campers lately that did not have the antenna connected at the radio.

It is a Milennia MIL-MPK15B. Google search will reveal very poor reviews on this radio.

You shouldn't have to take the stairs off. You should be able to pop off the outside bezel on the radio and unscrew it to get to the back. Should only take you a few minutes.
Not sure if it's the radio or the antenna. Mine came with a regular car stereo (No Name) and it still gets poor reception. I plan on replacing it with something that has an outside remote anyway.

Mine gets great reception on a clear day and lousy on a cloudy day. I'm very close to the cornfields. It's typical marine or RV use radio. You have to push the buttons rather hard to get things to work as it is sealed face for water/fog proof.

Here is the radio
Prospec Electronics Online Store

Here is the manual for the radio

I am going to ask a dumb question. What do you mean by "basement radio"? And does it have anything to do with the DVD/CD/Radio/Surround sound in the unit? I do not have my unit yet to know this. Thanks

A radio that is located in the lower storage compartment/basement area and is connected to the outside speakers.

And yours should be a standard car stereo. Not the round marine radio like the older units.

So that will be separate from the cd/DVD am/fm one inside the main area of the unit?

Very cool! Someone could be inside listening to the radio or watching a DVD and someone outside listening to the other radio. I get more impressed every day.

I have a 2013 model year 320RS and it has the round radio in the "basement" Here is a pic of a 2013 385BH and it also has the round marine rado.

When did they upgrade the basement/outside radio? Got any pics?

If anyone was camping near me and blasting either TV or radio from external speakers, I'd complain to the CG managers, or maybe put some grand opera on my inside radio and turn it way up. A local convenience store was having problems with large groups of teens hanging about. Opera over the external speakers fixed the problem really well!

Hi, I have this radio in my 2013 365RL and the instructions did not come in the info pack from the dealer. I push the power button and nothing happens. If anyone knows of a web site where I can down load the user instruction/ trouble shooting, I'd greatly appreciate the assist. Safe travels. "Mac" m.tavish@gmail.com
