50A surge guard

Hello all. I am buying a 50A hardwired surge protector for our camper. Has anyone installed one and if so, where did you install it?

Thanks

Proggresive industries?

I just installed mine behind the distribution center.
But accessed it from the basement on my columbus.
Easiest most convenient place.
You'll need 3 - 4 foot pieces 6ga. Wire plus a ground .

Remove inlet wire to distribution center and install on the incoming side of ems then new wire from ems to the distribution center.

This is the one I installed. Since my camper is wired for a generator, there is a transfer switch in the front storage compartment. That is where I installed mine.

Here's probably what you'll see when you take the basement access panel off.
You'll need to remove the from distribution cover as well.

This is the one I was looking at...it also has an optional remote monitor that I can mount where it will be visible.

Do what you want, proggresive is a little more but made in the USA and lifetime warranty.

I will add....I had a failure when I installed mine.. I called them and they sent the part to fix it...prolly 30 minutes total repair it.

I will admit it hurt my feelings when I had the surge failure code, but it worked out.

X2

We have the 50 amp progressive with the remote display. Saved our camper when a transformer went out in our campground and cooked some of our neighbors electronics.
