No comments on the Curt hitches. I have a long bed and didn't need a slider - I went with the B&W Companion hitch. I'd heard nothing but good about it and I'm insanely happy with it.

A friend of mine has a Curt 20k and likes it. I have a Curt 16k that I bought because I needed a hitch asap, and it was the only one available. I've been seriously contemplating going to the Curt 20k as my upgrade hitch, with a MorRyde pinbox.

I have the Curt 20K because they didn't have a 16K in the shop. Got the upgrade for free. I have not "had" to use it yet, although I have used it, just to make sure it worked. I have had no complaints with the hitch, except that it is very heavy. It usually stays in the truck. It has done me great and I would have no problem recommending it.

I have a long bed and don't need the slider. I went with the Curt 20K it's worked great so far and with the 10 year warrenty I don't worry about it.

I should clarify, after reading my post above, I have not "had" to use the SLIDER yet. I have used the heck out of the hitch, but not had a need for the slider, even parking in my narrow driveway from a narrow street. I bought the Curt slider when I bought my 5th wheel, and at the time, had a short bed. I used the slider the first time backing in my driveway when I brought the 5er home. I have used it once since then, again just to see if it still worked. I had a long bed for about a year, but am back to a short bed now and still have not "needed" the slider. But for myself, I am comfortable knowing I do have it...just in case.

I finally needed my SuperGlide hitch at a campground in Rhinebeck NY. The road to the campsite was windy and steep. While it prevented me hitting the cab while my attention was focused on not hitting the trees, it did not prevent the right front corner of my camper from hitting the top of my Generator enclosure.

Damage was limited to a gouge in the plastic "aerocap" from the exhaust panel latch I made for the cover. If I ever go back there I made a note in my notebook about that campground to be alert for that turn and make it a LOT wider.

I have the Curt 16k slider and like the way it works. ( but not needed the slider part yet). We picked it over several others...It just looked "beefy-er". I like the nice positive latch-up feel when you hook-up. Also easy to remove.

As for the mfg. I can not say anything negitive about Curt hitches. I have the 20k going on 5years and have had no problem. I do not have the slider so can not comment on that. But if it is anything like the standard Curt go with it.

One thing to remember, the slider for the Curt 20k has a height adjustment of 17.5"-21". So it is on the tall side and may or may not be a problem depending on your truck and trailer combination.
