I personally love the highend car owners that can actually afford them. It's just a car to them, there gonna get another one in a year or so (if that) and after repairs are made they just hop in and go, won't even look at the repair.
- now the ones that can't afford them hardly, those suckers will pick it to death, even a spot that was prior damage or not related.
Guess it takes all kinds!

That's where my problem comes from. I can spot a 1/16" door gap issue from 20 feet away. On top of repairing them I dabbled in showcars for several years.

Thats why I don't go to car shows, all I see is a lot of mis-aligned panels and shody body work. Some people think shiny is all it takes, I look at how straight the panels are, and overall quality. And some of the guys on tv trying to "trick" something , do hack jobs in my opinion. I think its easy to tell if a job was professional or just a shade tree. Body guys can do mechanics.... usually doesn't work the other way though.

There now I'm too picky too!

Op sorry for the highjack

Rmk2001800....as an rver whose 1 year old camper as been at the dealer for a total of 6 months..i had to shake my head and laugh! Especially your comment on the 2nd posted pic. I hope you don`t have any major issues to deal with. At least your rv will always be a good conversational piece in the campground

Funny, I was looking at one of my compartments saying the same thing, and my trailer was 20K less than yours.

Sorry... It does go to show, it is all RVs, not just the lower cost ones. By the way, I have seen worse on $250K+ coaches.

In my case, they have the water heater exterior access door frame and the refrigerator exterior access door frames such that they are crowned in the middle on the top of the frames. Thus the compartment doors have a wider gap in the middle than they do on the ends. Drives me crazy when it is parked and I am looking at it. Of course once I am setup and camping, I rarely notice or care.

Oh believe me, I know EXACTLY what you're talking about. Creative mudwork in this world sometimes.

I was at the Chevy Show many moons ago when a quick summer storm blew through, you've never seen so much creative bodywork show up once that stuff was wet.

I'm sorry too OP. You get wrench handlers together and we tend to wander off our own way.

Hi all. Our 2013 340RK is at the dealer now, or should I say still. We took delivery or our coach in March of 2013. We did discover a few minor flaws when we got it home. These were nothing major. I contacted the dealer and gave the Service Manager our list. He said to bring it in after the season was over and they would take care of the issues. I delivered the trailer to the dealer on October 31st. It was there until January 9th. In mid February I went out to begin cleaning for our trip we have planned to the Oregon Coast for Spring Break the first week of April. The Entry door wouldn't stay closed unless I pushed on it real hard and then had to use the deadbolt to keep it shut. I delivered the trailer to the dealer on Feb. 19th. I had the door and the front A/C vibration issues attended to. I got the call on March 7th that the trailer was ready to be picked up. We got it on Saturday the 8th. I checked out the repairs before taking the trailer home. All seemed ok. When I got the coach home I opened the curb side slide and it would not open all the way and it made a lot of noise on its way out. Not normal. When I closed the slide it came in so far it popped the entry door open. Now I know why the door wouldn't stay shut. I returned the trailer to the dealer on the 9th. I am still waiting for the dealer, the manufacturer of the slide components and Forest River to decide how they are going to approach the slide repair. I keep getting the run around and my trip is fast approaching.
Frustrated Columbus owner.

Now I am wondering why I traded in my 2005 Trail Bay for a 2013 RESS

Accidentally hit the send button..anyway very litte issues with that camper...and also good quality..probably why they went under...I honestly don't think the quality will get better until the Japanese start building campers

You have every right to be picky...we all just wish the guys building our units looked at them the way we do before they leave the factory!
My OCD goes bonkers when I find anything off, especially when I buy new...but as others stated, I can live with some minor imperfections vs a mechanical lemon

Happy Camping!

Get it fixed if you need to but I could live with that. I would be more worried about the dealer fixing this improperly and creating a real issue for me.

Did you notice this at the initial walk-through? I might have said something prior to taking delivery had I noticed.

??? Maybe the door is plumb?? The bottom of the trailer is angled?? I would check that first and see the outcome??

My trailer is a "cheap" one.... I don't see alot of flaws in trim ect... Maybe I was one of the lucky ones

WOW! We are thinking of ordering a Columbus 320 RS this week and reading all this makes me rethink. Maybe I should just quit reading so much. LOL
