Am I just being picky???

Looking out the garage at the side of the 3 week old columbus and this is what I see- am I just excepting to much out of a 50k camper??? Looks like they don't know what a level or what square means....

Be honest!

it's really sad how poor the standards are now matter how much you spend. You have to consider if you can live with any of the flaws or not. Sometimes fixing them doesn't yield the desired results, as many of the dealer service techs have less standards than the factory.

ITs off picky or not its your trailer. My 9000 dollar trailer looks the same way. I thought it was because I bought the cheapest one.

My cargo door and propane door look a bit off perfect. Funny I've never noticed it. Maybe because my cargo doors are white on a white background with white trim. Nothing to really define the outline of the door. My entry door looks right. Next time I set up and level, I'll check it out. Right now, it's just sitting in the driveway and not perfectly level.

that's the attitude you need to have, otherwise your camper will spend its entire life at the dealer having minor issues "fixed".

Humor always helps me too....especially after I plugged my brand new toy into 240v. Once the pain of replacing the microwave, tv, fireplace and converter wore off, you couldn't stop me from laughing at my own dumb$#% mistake.

Hmm, I'm working on my nit pick list now. Nothing worth $100 worth of diesel to take back yet, but there's things that have disappointed me considering the MSRP of these things.

Sometimes pics angle can make it look distorted, would like to see a straight on pic but from the pic you have put up it does look off.

no, they really do build them by randomly fitting parts together

I found so many "picky" things with my Gulf Stream I ordered in 2007 that I cannot fathom buying another one from them. Overall, I have been happy with the trailer and I was able to pay it off in less than 5 years. Here are a few examples just from the master bedroom:
1. bedside shelves sat perfectly on top of the mattress - absolutely NO room for a mattress topper and blankets. I raised the shelves 6"
2. trim around the shelves in #1 was different styles and colors on the two sides of the bed (one side is brown tubular, the other side is white flat). I have just lived with this.
3. trim on the ceiling in the master bedroom is neither parallel to the wall nor straight. I have just lived with this.
4. the heat register pumped out enough heat to roast a large, frozen turkey. I installed a register cover with a damper.
5. the trim around the slide was cut about 6" too short. The dealer repaired this after he discovered it, before I saw the camper.

I have a similar list for every other room (front bedroom, living room, and bathroom).

I haven't found nearly the same level of "picky" things in the used Palomino I bought.

Honestly, mine's been spectacular thus far. While I've only camped two nights I've screwed around with it in the driveway enough to simulate a fair amount of use. The flashing on the left LR slide is coming loose in one spot, I'm not happy with the rubber trim around some of the windows, I made a few electrical improvements but given my auto background with a masters certification in electrical that should be no surprise.

All in all I'm very happy, but those picky details grind my gears.

Op. Honestly after working at auto dealerships for a number of years, I can nit pick almost any car- be it a porshe carrera, or f350 to a kia, none of them are perfect if you are looking for it. You will just have to decide whether you can deal with it or not.

I personally love the highend car owners that can actually afford them. It's just a car to them, there gonna get another one in a year or so (if that) and after repairs are made they just hop in and go, won't even look at the repair.
- now the ones that can't afford them hardly, those suckers will pick it to death, even a spot that was prior damage or not related.
Guess it takes all kinds!
Hope that your issues don't ruin your day!
Happy campin'!
