Thanks for the description Spurge. My strap arrived today. The sofa-side one died within the year, had no joy trying to get a replacement through my dealer (beginning to discover he was a really great guy until we drove off the lot with the trailer. Every problem we have had, and there weren't many, have been extremely well handled by FR direct). SabreSam helped out in getting a replacement to me. I think my 31RETS is back to front compared to yours in that the pin is on the outer side of the slider, and the other end is screwed into the chassis. Now I know what the probable cause is I'll go attack the refit tomorrow, Tx rain permitting.

We have a Sabre 32RCTS on order and wanted to have slide toppers installed but they were not listed as a option.

We have a quote from the dealer to install them when delivered, but, based on some posts on this forum, I'm thinking that it might be better or even less exensive if I could have them installed by factory.

Is this possible and, if so, what would the cost be for the 32 RCTS?? Would it delay delivery?

The super lube bearing system means you can grease your bearings and spindles without taking hubs apart. If you take off the hub cap off your wheel you'll notice a grease zerk there to manually grease your bearings and hubs.
Also known as a bearing buddy more so used on boat trailer axles.

Thanks for the info. That is what I was looking for.

I have been reading up on the RV.net forums about the ez lube system used with dexter axles. People are having major issues with these and have gone back to manually packing the bearings.

Is this case with the super lube? anyone having any issues? recommendations on grease type? Any idea on what was put in from the factory so we can match the grease?

Just joined the forum today. Looked at, considering a Sabre 34REQS. I was wondering 2 things. Why people use the '6' after their model #'s ? Is there a backer in the wall for mounting a small TV over the dresser in the bedroom?

The "6" at the end of the model number indicates the trailer has 6,000# axles which are larger than the standard axles; it's the way to go.
Sorry I can't help you with the TV support question. I'm sure someone will respond.

When we bought our new REQS, we were told that the "6" designates a true all metal frame: front, back, 2 sides, top, and bottom. Apparently, some build metal construction but with a wood top.

Oh and the backer board. Nothing was mentioned about that. They told us the design was to put the TV on the chest of drawers. That's working good for us. We're really enjoying ours.

Yes Turbo is right,
the "-6" after the model identifies it was built with the 6000lb axles and 16" wheels with 8 lug wheels. Some of our competitors save money by not upgrading to the 8 lug wheel when they jump to the 16" wheels.

Thanks for your helpful replies. The units on the dealer lot all have the 6000 lb axle/16" wheel pkg. They say it's the only way they order them. It seems like a no brainer for the price. I might try building something to get our 19" flat screen above the window if it will fit. DW doesn't like the windows blocked.

One more ?, we're considering the thermopane window upgrade. We currently have a seasonal site in Wisconsin and use our camper from April thru October. It does get a bit chilly in the spring and fall and with all those windows I thought it would help with condensation and keep the units temp more liveable. Thoughts???

We actually went to the dealer to look at another brand, can I say Jayco on this board , because we have one now and are very happy with it. When DW walked into the 34REQS she loved it. That one on the lot has all the options we would want except the thermopane windows so we would have to factory order one.

Does anyoneknow how wide the 16" tires are? I want to build some leveling ramps to have ready when my ne 32 RCTS-6 arives. I have a lot of treated 2X6 lumber available that I could use if that would be wide enough.

2x8 would be better or 2x10 is what I used.
My old tt I could use 2x6 but these 16 inchers are wider.
So I went with the 2x10 its a little more forgiving if your not quite sqaure.
2x6 will not work unless side by side

I just measured the tread area on my 31RETS with the 16" tires and it measured about 7" across the tread face.
