Awning

I'm considering purchasing an awning for the slide out on my Solaire 201SS. The trailer is currently in the shop getting warranty work done. The shop owner estimated around $300.00 for the materials and labor, and the slide out is about 8 feet long. The awning may keep out some water during a rain and will keep the top of the slide cleaner. I guess my question is is there any problems with aftermarket awnings installed over slides?

We made the mistake of not having one installed before we picked ours up.
It cost us more to have it done later.
Ours is 12' long and we are so glad we did.
It has worked flawlessly for 7 years now and was well worth the money.
