Awning creaking and moaning

When I extend or retract the power Awning on my SolAire 297RLDS it makes a moaning noise like something is rubbing. I sprayed silicon lube along the track an that seem to make no change. It also creaks while it is extended if the wind blows it.

Has anyone else had this issue? If so, how is it made less noisy?

If you have gas pistons, it may be from those. I have to lube mine with liquid silicone about every other month, or they are very annoying.

To lube it, you simply extend the awning, spray some silicone lubricant along the metal (shiny) shaft of the piston, and then retract it.
