Backup camera not connecting. Elite Entertainment
We have a 2015 Columbus Compass 375 RLC that came from Fun Town. It came with an Elite Entertainment backup camera that has never really worked. I have turned on the lights to on mode, not auto, have read the terrible manual and followed all of the directions, and still no signal. Any suggestions??

Is it wired into the lights, some we're wired into a switch under the rear. Cabinets. The Elite camera system sucks!!

Got 1 response so far, he said you need to power the monitor on first, then turn on the lights. I do not think he is very happy with the Elite

Got another reply ..,....I had the Elite that didn't work from day one, was replaced at the rally so I took the defective one apart and it had water in it plus the antenna wire wasn't connected to the circuit board

I would, just from my experience that I have seen the Elite Brand is garbage. I do not like bad mouthing a product, but have seen way too many complaints about the Elite

on my MH, it does not work sometimes. "no signal" think the rg6 cable is kinked where the camera in mounted. the builders push the extra cable down the wall and probably kinked it. I will get out a ladder and remove the camera and check it. rg6 cable cannot be bent too sharply.

It will not work if headlights are set to auto... turn headlights to the manual position.

I saw one other Columbus that had the same problem. Found the wire from the light to the camera had a fuse on it that was blown. We had to pull a lot of wire out to find it. But if you try it be careful because as you know the wiring is always the same on all units...!!! (Could be a short wire on yours.)

I have a Columbus 320RS, it had the Elite system on it which didn't work. I contacted Elite which sent me a replacement system which didn't work. I then replaced it with a Voyager observation system which would also loose signal. Their fix is to move the antenna to the side of the trailer, I did one better and made a 50 foot coax cable and routed it under the trailer to the front storage compartment and mounted the antenna there. The signal now is at 4 bars now and never looses signal. Sometimes you have to take things into your own hands.
