Black Soot coming out of hot water flue

I have a 2006 Puma Palomino travel trailer. I purchased the unit in May 2017 and I started noticing alot of black soot coming out of the flue screen area. I cleaned the screen and side of RV once but soon after it was black soot dirty again. The water temp. is plenty hot and runs fine. The flame out the stove is perfect blue color. I am concerned of a fire starting and the unit burning down. Does anyone have any suggestions knowledge help on what to do. Thank you all in advance

Air mixture is wrong., sliding the slotted part of the burner tube till you get nice blue flame. Check for spider nests or webs inside the burner tube.

That is due to your burner tube being partially blocked. It could be a spider Web or, in my case, a dirt dauber nest. You might be able to blow out the tube but will probably have to remove it to clean it. I posted a report on here last year, as have many others.

Soot means something isn't right with the air fuel mixture. I would inspect and clean the burner.

Sounds like its unanimous the burner tube......I'm not too mechanically inclined but how hard can it be right. Which precautions do I need to take first before I go tinkering around in there like shut off gas line, disconnect power/battery etc. Will look in forum for threads on burner tube cleaning see where its at and how to clean it like using compressed air, wire brush ??

You might want to add insect screens to keep the bugs out.

In line with the other suggestions, got an air compressor with a blow gun? Blow out the heat exchanger( burner chamber) both ways. When in doubt, you can always google: service manual for suburban(or Atwood) sw6de water heaters to get a good handle on it
