I carried our Columbus 295rl to the shop for some warranty work and asked them to check the brakes while it was there. I had thought from day one that the brakes didn't seem to be working right. The original dealer where we bought adjusted them and said everything was OK. That dealer has since gone out of business leaving me to find another dealer for warranty work. Lucky there was another one not too far away. We bought the unit in May. It has been pulled about 1500 miles since then and guess what? We have the grease problem also. Only one wheel was really messed up but they are replacing all 4 under warranty. The shop said they would use the good red high temp grease and some seals out of their stock when I expressed concern about the Lippert seals. The grease Lippert uses could be part of the problem if it is not thick enough. Ours is a 2014 model.

I am picking ours up tomorrow. It has been at the shop for almost 5 weeks to get everything done. They have to wait on approval for every little thing. I am so ready to go camping.

Just got mine back from the dealer. They could not find any bit problems. Remover all drums and inspected. No grease & looked good. They only made adjustment. Feels some better but not what I think they should be. I have read that some of the magnets are possibly to small. I we'll keep looking to see if I can find something. Who knows, could be in the truck. Have already had 2 different controllers.

when I picked up our camper had it in the first week to have the dealer insp the brakes, (they said all good) took back home and adjusted myself. pulled all summer with marginal stopping power, took back 2 months ago and had to get FR in the issue ,but they are a no show when I call back to check on how they are going to fix... noy very happy with FR at all. went out and bought a prodigy and still will not stop it

2 months is ridiculous.

We had the same problem on our 5er... over greased bearings, leaking seals.

The trailer was at the dealer for less than a week. Dexter Fedex'd 4 complete replacement brake and hub assemblies to the dealer in Oregon and we were back on the road.

I found on my 320RS that the rear seals are fine but I had one front seal or dust cover as I always heard it referred to seeping around edges. Grease had dripped out onto the wheel as it has been sitting for three months. Found when I was checking air pressure and looking for rear seal problems before my trip south to Gulf Shores. Plenty of grease in bearings, maybe too much so will keep close eye on it. Any one else have similar thing happen? Have had since May and pulled about 3000 miles so far.

Did your dealer help to get authorization from Lippert or did you have to contact Lippert yourself to get the authorization?

Sorry it took so long. I guess we got lucky having Dexter brake components instead of Lippert.

I heard that...

but when we had our problem in June I was dealing directly with Dexter.

Did LCI buy Dexter recently?

OK... did some Googling

Dexter is owned by the Sterling Group, a private equity firm based in Houston, TX.

Lippert (LCI) is owned by Drew Industries Incorporated (NYSE: DW)

I found no information regarding Lippert acquiring Dexter.

Add me to the list of failed seals. I had one that totally failed and two that were leaking. Took to an independent repair shop to get it fixed. $340 to replace the three seals and repack all four bearings. Not sure if it is worth the hassle of going through Lippert. The independent is authorized to do warranty work for most brands. 2013 Columbus 365rl is out of warranty.
