brakes on 340RK

Picked up my new 340RK today. Tow is Ford F350 with factory brake controller.
Manually applied the trailer brakes with max gain and the trailer brakes will not stop the trailer from 10 mph in 100 yards!

No data in the unit about axles, brakes, etc.

What gives? Very disappointed with the lack of technical info. I was told that the brakes were self-adjusting. True or false? Whose axles?

It could be the wiring connection to your truck plug . It was delivered to your dealer with no reports of any brake issues from the driver. They worked fine for him. Lets hope it's as simple as a bad connection from your truck brake system .

Welcome to the forum,

Does the factory brake controller give any feedback? Do you feel any braking?

If there self adjusting you have to back up while manually pulling brake controller.
Is this the first time you've ever pulled anything with trailer brakes with this truck?

Also this adjustment method isn't instantaneous it may take multiple trys .

If they are really out of adjustment the wheels and drums may need to come off or adjusted from the backing plate.

Its under warranty let the dealer do it.
