Calling all Solaire owners

We are considering the 2014 Solaire 239 DSBH. Other than being a little short on storage, the layout is what we want. But after reading posts on these forums, I am suddenly gun shy about the build quality. Most threads I've seen have centered around water leaks and trim problems. So, has ANYONE out there had a positive experience with the Solaire's quality? Last camping season we were in pouring rain for about the first month. We can't live with a camper that isn't water tight.

We have a 2013 307QBDSK. No issues with leaks but the jury is still out because we've only camped in it for 9 days so far (bought it new last October.) If memory serves we had a couple of rain showers during the trip.

As for the quality, I find it to be typical of the last camper we owned. Several "ticky tack" items that are now being corrected at the dealership. Nothing unusual, in my opinion for campers at this price point.

We bought ours last May and had a great first season in it. We did have some minor issues that were resolved very quickly by our selling dealer. There were a few trim issues that were dealt with during the PDI inspection with the dealer and dealt with immediately. There are no perfect trailers, even $85,000. Airstream will have some PDI issues.......what makes the difference is the selling dealer and thoroughness of the PDI process and the commitment to making it right in a timely fashion. We had an awesome dealer and they will get our business on the next unit we buy.

We chose the Solaire because of floorplan and specific features that we wanted. The quality compared to other brands we were looking at such as Cougar X-Lite, Laredo and Coleman.

Good Luck on your search!

Lou

Like others have said, we too had no major issues with our Solaire 269BHDSK (eclipse).

We did discover a few minor leaks, after our first trip. Took it back to the dealer and they fixed it all up.

1 thing i will say is don't waste your money on an RV cover, the line-x (if you have) on the front will rip it to pieces if your at all exposed to wind.

Really, rip to pieces? Was that covered under warranty.

Yes the cover was under warranty. I contacted Adco and they agreed to issue a new cover.

Since Adco cannot ship to Canada I had my RV place contact Adco to get me a new cover through local disturbers.

On the second cover, I even put a tarp over the line-x in hopes that the RV cover would be spared rubbing on the line-x which is rough like sandpaper.

That cover also shredded it's self, at this point I have given up on RV covers.

Unit will go indoors next year well work the extra $75 I should have payed.

We love our Solaire 307. It's our first tt! We used it for about 20 nights after taking delivery and only identified a few minor issues that the dealership took care of. I think we typically hear more of the bad than the good on any kind of social media. The Solaires (especially the Eclipse versions) have good value for the price point and they seem to be made as well as any other rv out there.

I have a Solaire 269 and have around 45 nights slept in. Except for my original problem with leaks (factory didn't seal correctly), it has been a great camper.

I too just got a 269. Just curious where were the leaks? Our first trip will be memorial day but have had several big rains since purchase date and have not noticed anything wet inside.

If you have/had leaks, were they located around the vents or the slide? I purchased the slide toppers and we have had no leaks...xcept for a shower leak, and that was fixed by the dealer.

I picked mine up about a month ago and am still waiting to get out in it. Probably soon. I have it set up in the driveway though and we have had nothing but torrential downpours here. Not one drop of water inside yet.

We own a 2014 Solaire 307. It has been a horrible expeience. After only camping three times this summer, a slide out controller failed, the slide out floor started to fall out, the air conditioning failed, plumbing leaks in the bathroom, finish cracking on one of the outside storage doors, the power jack stopped working, some of the LED bulbs in the awning and front of trailer are blown. We are very frustrated.

Soliare Quality

Does anyone else own a Solaire? We own a 2014 Solaire 307 with the Eclipse package. It has been a horrible expeience. After only camping three times this summer, a slide out controller failed, the slide out floor started to fall out, one of the slide outs starting leaking in the rain, the air conditioning failed, plumbing leaks in the bathroom, finish cracking on one of the outside storage doors, the power jack stopped working, some of the LED bulbs in the awning and front of trailer are blown. We are very frustrated. We were wondering if anyone one else has had issues with their Solaire.

Sorry to hear about your experience. Just keep in mind that many of the systems you report having problems with are used industry wide. The slide out controller, a/c and power jack issues aren't really SolAire issues, as they are the same components used industry wide. Some of the other issues are new ones for me. Hopefully your dealer will get all fixed up for you.

We have been happy with ours. I hope they resolve everything quickly for you and that you have a better service department than I do.
