Ceiling Fan Loose
We were in the camper (36QBOK) this weekend getting ready for our first trip and I noticed the ceiling fan was not securely attached. It has two screws installed in the slots that allow you to twist the fan and then remove it from the mount. One of the screws had slipped out of the slot so the fan was only being held by one screw. There is another set of regular screw holes that are not slotted so I put the screws in those instead so the thing doesn’t end up falling when we are driving. Unfortunately it seems that it is still not very stable though. Is the fan box it hangs from supposed to move around or should it be sturdy? The other problem is that neither the lights nor the fan would turn on. We were only running on battery power though. Is that a circuit that won’t run on the battery?

I bow to knowledge much greater than mine . The reason I went with 120V is that 2 years ago we had a power failure in the area due to a severe T-storm. It was hot so to circulate some air I tried our ceiling fan and it didn't work, but the 2 roof vent fans in our unit worked fine. Now I have a mystery to solve when we get back to our camper in a couple weeks.

My 2007 Sabre ceiling fan was 12 Volts; the guy at the factory told me they switched to 120Volt in later models.

Are you talking about ceiling fans or bathroom vent fans?
Ceiling fans are normally 120V and bathroom vent fans are 12V.

The ceiling fan in the kitchen. I'm really worried that it is going to fall off but the dealer told me it is supposed to move unlike one in a house. Not going to have this thing plugged in until our first camping trip next weekend so I won't know for sure if it actually works until then.
Thanks for the replies.

My ceiling fan is 12 VDC, switch is by the thermostat. When stopped for lunch at a rest stop we can turn it on feel hot air with a breeze flowing.

I assumed the OP was referring to the ceiling paddle fan.
