Columbus 320RS and JT's Strong Arms question
We picked up our new Columbus 320RS yesterday and today I have been installing the Strong Arms. I would like to know if there is someone who has them installed on a 320RS and has a picture of the rear set and could post it for me to see.
I would greatly appreciate it.

Same Request
I have a 2014 320 rs and have installed the front JT Strongarms without a problem. The 320 came with pre-installed mounting points, however the set I purchased does not seem to have the correct hardware for the rear jack. I have the 6 point auto leveling system so it is very different than the picture previously posted. I have research on line without success, even though it states that it can be installed on this set up I cannot find instructions that verify the correct hardware. Does anyone have the JTs installed on the 320 and can provide a picture of the rear jack attachment, I would greatly appreciate it.

I have a 2013 320 rs with the four point auto leveling system with the rear mounted to the back auto levelers which are immediately behind the rear tires. The other end of the JT's are attached to a mount directly behind this on the frame.

Yes mine already has the frame mount, but I need to see how the other end is attached to the jack. The hardware that came with the package I purchased does not seem correct, and I am unable to find better instructions or pictures. Thanks

Though mine are four point levelers, they mount through a bottom leg hole just like the front. I believe on the six point it would attach to the bottom hole on the rear levelers. Sounds like you may have the hardware for the non leveler system. Go to pplmotorhomes.com and look at JT's pictures on their site.

Same setup here. I plan to use the factory rear mounts. The total length for each arm will be something like 8 feet long (the inside tube is just under 1" OD and I will find a substitute or extend the kit tube). I am hoping the angle from the factory mounts works in my favor and yields both fair lateral and front to rear stabilization.

Thanks to all who responded. I don't have the leveling system on mine. I used the pre-installed brackets, which are located in front of the stabilizers. I just wasn't sure I was putting them on correctly, but am now feeling more comfortable about it. Thanks again.

I was curious from those Columbus owners that have installed the jacks themselves, how much of a difference in trailer movement did the JT’s impact. Remove some of the movement, all, etc..?

They removed 50 - 75% of the movement in the rig. A lot of it depends on how much jack is necessary to level the rig. The more jack extended, the more chance of movement. I used blocks to minimize the amount of jack needed.

It also depends if the stabilizers are adjusted per the instructions. Following them requires tension to be place on them by operating the front landing gear.

Can you explain this a little further? I was told to simply tighten down screw on each stabilizer once the trailer was leveled. I have a 340RK with the 6-jack leveling system.

I have JT's on my 320 factory installed, had on previous 5er, make a huge difference in shake. After tightening JT's you may have a small amount of slack in them, simply manually raise the front jacks for about 3 seconds time and it will remove slack and make them much steadier.

Thank you! I was never told to raise the front jacks after tightening. Will have to try it this weekend while we are out clamming.

I got on Lippert's website and downloaded the instructions on how to use their Strong Arms. It definitely makes a difference on how effective they work.

Which lowers the trailer and takes all the slack out of the joints. Works great.
Adding jacks in front of the axles also takes the bounce out of the suspension/tires.

I added the JT's to my Sabre and also found that "bumping the jacks a little really does help. I also added them to the rear...twice. The first time I followed the instructions and installed them across the back. It didn't have enough clearance from the jacks even with the optional extension bracket from mobile outfitters
Then I mounted them on the sides and they work much better. No clearance problems and more stable.

Remember that you are not really "raising or lowering" your rig. It is just enough to take the slack out if the brackets and all joints. Also make sure all the attachment point to the frame are tight. Mine were about 2 turns loose on a couple. Once tightened it was a huge difference.
