Thumbs up Columbus 320rs - Did you have to modify your tailgate?

Hey guys:

I am considering the 320rs. Did those of you who have one have to remove or modify your factory tailgate? I have a 2011 Ford F250 if that matters.

Thanx guys...

No Modification

We have a 2011, Silverado 2500 and made no modifications to tow our 320RS.

We have a 2012 F350 "long" bed with factory 5th wheel prep package no problem with tailgate. May I ask what is your concern? You do have to open and close it to hitch and unhitch but there is plenty of clearance.

Thanx for the info guys.

My concern was having to remove the tailgate all together, which I really do not want to do. I tow other things and the rear backup camera is awesome for hooking up the boat, ATV trailers, etc. I understand you have to lower it to hitch and unhitch, which is no biggie.

Thanx again...

There is plenty of clearance between the tailgate and the front of my Sabre, which also looks to be very simular to the Columbus... but I've noticed on some 5th wheels, the lower front panel is much more vertical than on the Sabre which can really cut into the tailgate's space!

I have a friend with a 2002 RAM3500 LB who had to remove the tailgate to connect to his 29Ft Cruiser Fifth Wheel.

Take a look at the pictures and you will see what I mean!
